Reflex Challenge Testing

Reflex Challenge Testing in Tacoma, WAReflex Challenge Testing is another way that we individualize your treatment at TACOMA HEALTH. When combined with the Metabolic Chemistry Analysis we are able to create a very precise plan that fits your body's individual needs. Reflex Challenge Testing involves determining the status of an individual's nervous system by checking the strength of multiple muscles in response to a simple "stress" or "challenge". Simply speaking, a strong muscle indicates a strong nervous system reflex and a weak muscle indicates a reflex in need of balancing.

In the initial testing the challenge is the force of practitioner's pressure against the strength of the patient's muscle. Strong muscles indicate strong nervous system support to those muscles. Once the initial strong muscles are acquired, then testing continues by the practitioner "challenging" or stressing individual reflexes. If a weak muscle is the response of "stressing" a particular reflex, then that reflex is considered in need of balance. The reflex itself can be associated with the nerves of a bone, muscle, nerve, gland, organ, or skin; basically any anatomical area on the physical body that is innervated. Once a challenged reflex is found then the practitioner can use additional testing methods to determine if the stressed reflex is caused by a 1) physical 2) nutritional 3) chemical 4) electromagnetic or 5) emotional source. The body will determine which of these challenges are causing the weak reflex and then even indicate the necessary treatment by turning the weak reflex strong again when given the appropriate treatment.

This testing is unique to our clinic alone in the fact that we have taken some of the best components of a variety of practitioners in the field of Kinesiology and combined them into one practice. This method of testing was discovered by a chiropractor named Dr. George Goodheart who termed it Applied Kinesiology or "AK." Since him, the method has been brought to the forefront of clinical practice through the steadfast work and dedication of practitioners like Dick Versendaal DC, John Brimhall DC, and Freddie Ulan DC that have modernized the procedure and made it a practical therapy for thousands of practitioners worldwide.
